OLSON TOPS MOBILE MUST SEE EVENT & FAYARD SHATTERS RECORD
Irvington, AL - April 14, 2012 - Brian Olson took advantage of a front row starting position to claim his first career TRUFUEL Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series feature victory Saturday night at Mobile International Speedway. Olson piloted the Davey Hamilton Racing TRUFUEL entry into victory lane and collected $3,000 for his efforts.
The evening started off with a bang when six cars went below Kevin Swindell's track record of 14.487 seconds set in 2005. Todd Fayard, from nearby Saucier, MS, collected the $500 bonus when he emerged as the new track record holder with a lap of 13.919 seconds. Fayard was also the only driver to crack the 13 second barrier.
Polesitter, Jacob Wilson, lead the opening lap but surrendered the lead to Olson on lap 2. Once Olson claimed the point, he never looked back. Olson was pressured throughout the entire event first by Wilson and later Jason Cox. Cox passed Olson for the lead on lap 20, but a caution gave Olson his spot back. In victory lane Olson eluded to the fact he received a huge break. " With about ten laps to go I was getting bottled up in lapped traffic and Jason (Cox) got by me there. I caught a lucky break with the caution and got the lead back " explained Olson. " After that I knew he was there and had to step it up. That's what I did and it paid off in the end ". Olson acknowledged this was a huge win on his resume. " Its right up there at the top. This series is getting bigger and bigger and there are some really good driver in it " concluded Olson.
Heat races were won by Tim Cox, Jim Sheets, and Mickey Kempgens.
The event concluded the second and final night of the Royal Oak Southern Shoot Out. Tanner Swanson won the opening night at 5 Flags Speedway. Both of the weekend winners were first-time winners in the series.
Next up for the MSRXSS will be a visit to Winchester Speedway on May 20. The ' Xtreme Speed Challenge ' event will also feature the debut of the new Must See Racing Super Modified Series. For more info log onto www.mustseeracing.com.

Pensacola, FL - April 13, 2012 - Tanner Swanson used his pole starting position to capture his first career TRUFUEL Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series ( MSRXSS ) victory at 5 Flags Speeday Friday night. The win was worth $3,000 for the California driver who lead wire-to-wire. The event was night #1 of the Royal Oak Southern Shoot Out.The event was the first time since 1992 that 410 winged asphalt sprint cars have raced in the state of Florida.
Swanson was makiing his first career MSRXSS start and the first time ever in a winged asphalt sprint car.Swanson explained in victory lane that it was anything but easy. " The tough part is without having any radios you never know how big a lead you have.Every yellow I got hand signals from the crew telling me how big a lead I had. I worked my butt off to make sure I ran a good line. Right there at the end I know McCune had gotten up to second and I didnt know what kind of car he had ". Swanson explained that his first time in a winged asphalt sprint car was a memorable experience. " Its real fun when your out front by yourself ".Swanson was turning 13.9 second laps twenty-four out of thirty laps in the feature.Jimmy McCune, Mickey Kempgens, Todd Fayard, and Jacob Wilson rounded out the top five.
Twenty-five cars took time during qualifications. Jason Cox set a new track record when he turned a lap of 13.780 seconds around the half mile high-banked oval. The majority of the cars were unable to crack the 13 second barrier earlier in qualifications. It appeared as if Brian Gingras' track record from two seasons ago would stand. With just a handful of cars left. Cox put his name in the record books.Only two other cars were in the 13 second bracket.Cox picked up a $200 bonus for setting quick time from Deep South Speedway in nearby Loxley, AL.

“I am very blessed to have this opportunity from Jerry (Powell) to be able to pursue this year’s championship. The Must See Series has a tough lineup this year but I am confident that all the work myself and Jerry put in will show the team’s championship caliber.” said Billy Wease.
The team compatibility began when team owner Jerry Powell put Billy in his sprint car at the 2011 USAC Sprint Race in Columbus, Ohio. At the end of 2011, Powell talked to Billy about driving for the team and so the 2012 Championship pursuit began. Throughout the winter months, the team has been busy rebuilding and preparing the cars for the season.
“Billy is a great driver,” affirmed team owner Jerry Powell. “I have known Billy and his family f or years. I know his capabilities behind the wheel of a race car and that we can compete for wins and the championship this year.”
In the 2011 season, Billy Wease had the privilege to compete with the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series with Don Wilshe’s BioBased US team. “I am very appreciative to Don for last season allowing me to be a part of such a great, competitive series. There were a lot of new elements for me and luckily I had a great team behind me to help me grow as a driver.” said Wease. This opportunity added wing sprint cars to his already impressive racing career.
The team will represent sponsor K&N Filters in the series’ full schedule beginning wit h the Southern Shootout season opener April 13. The Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car Series offers a unique racing platform as it will be able bring its competitive racing to millions via their 10 broadcasted events. Larrison to Indy Lights
Veteran Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series Driver Mike Larrison has signed on to compete in the 2012 Indy Lights Series piloting the Ballardi Racing #19. Larrison will also return full time to the MSRXSS Davey Hamilton Racing winged sprint car.
“I'm very excited for the 2012 racing season with MSR and my announcement to race this season with Bellardi Auto Racing. I will be running Bellardi's #19 Indy Lights car, making my debut in the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I feel with the intense and high speed racing schedule with MSR, it will definitely help me in my step up to my 2012 Indy Lights deal with Bellardi Auto Racing. I couldn't have rebounded back without all the support of my family and friends, Jennifer Straumins and Bill Anderson from Calumet specialty/ Tru Fuel, and all my other sponsors Royal Oak, Turtle wax and Champion Oil Brands. After laying in a hospital bed last fall for three months, from my testing accident with Andretti Autosports, I am very blessed and thankful for the opportunities Bellardi and Hamilton are giving me in 2012” commented Mike.
MSRXSS President Jim Hanks added “We wish Mike and his Indy Lights team the very best this coming season. Mike has worked extremely hard to come back after his testing incident last year and shown the kind of heart and commitment it takes to be a winner. Mike, his new teammate Brian Olson with their first class Davey Hamilton Racing operation is a tremendous asset to our growing series. It is exciting to have drivers like Mike and Jacob Wilson racing in Indy Lights.”
