MUST SEE RACING SET TO CELEBRATE LABOR DAY WEEKEND WITH OWOSSO VISIT
August 28, 2024 – Holly, Michigan – The Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit-Parts will be racing for a total purse of $18,175 when they make their second and final appearance of the year at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, Michigan this Saturday night August 31. The MSR National Series presented by Perfit will be joined by the Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights for a double header winged sprint car treat.
Saturday’s event will pay $4000 to win and Must See Racing today announced a $500 Fast Time bonus will be up for grabs. This is welcome news for Joe Liguori who has set fast time on multiple occasions in 2024. Rick Holley and Aaron Willison are other drivers who will welcome this announcement. Holley set quick time both times the series visited Owosso Speedway in 2023 and holds the all-time track record. Willison who hails from Langely British Columbia, Canada is known for setting track records all across the country.
The Owosso event will see the return of a couple standout drivers. In addition to Willison, Florida’s 14-year-old phenom Colton Bettis will make his second career MSR appearance. The teenager set fast time at Sandusky, Ohio on July 26 driving for the Sam Pierce / AP Development Aaron Pierce wrenched entry. Bettis was running up front during the feature event before mechanical issues sent him to the pits. He will now get a redo racing for the same team.
Willison’s return to MSR competition is an interesting story. The recently crowned Northwest Sprint Tour Champion made his first career start at Lancaster, New York on June 1. In what appeared to be a one-off event driving the Dick Myers owned #50m has turned into several MSR appearances. Despite missing 2 events, the western Canada speedster finds himself inside the top 10 in points.
Ryan Litt, who won the most recent series event at Berlin on August 10 is also expected to participate. Litt brought his newborn daughter with him and found victory lane and instantly proclaimed her his good luck charm. It’s all but certain baby Litt will be attending her second race.
The Labor Day Weekend Must See Racing appearance to Owosso Speedway annually draws one of the biggest car counts and crowds the series will race in front of. Saturday’s event looks to be much the same. Over 30 cars between the National and Midwest Lights Series is already confirmed. Drivers from 5 different states and 2 Canadian provinces are expected.
Among the National Series drivers expected include Teddy Alberts, Adam Biltz, Jason Blonde, Jeff Bloom, JJ Dutton, Tom Geren, Bobby Komisarski, Jimmy McCune, Kevin Mingus, Tommy Nichols, Charlie Schultz, Dorman Snyder, and more.
Joe Liguori continues his march towards his first MSR National Series championship with a commanding points lead. A tight points battle between Cody Gallogly and JJ Henes wages on in the Midwest Lights Series
