LIGUORI ENTERS CHILDRENS DREAM FUND 50

(January 19) When the Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit announced that they would co-sanction an event March 2, 2024, with the BG Products Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series, it grabbed Joe Liguori’s attention.

Liguori is a Tampa born driver who currently competes with both series. To him, this race offers the best of both Worlds. Liguori may in fact be one of the few drivers who will be in the field who has won in both series in recent seasons. Liguori picked up his first career SSSS victory this past September when he scored a win at Auburndale Speedway.

“When I first heard the announcement of this race, I thought it was a good thing for an alliance between the two organizations” explained Liguori. “People stop butting heads when you gain an alliance. You also get more cars. Being on the same tire opened the door for all of this.”

Being familiar with both series, Liguori was asked if he might have an advantage heading into the ‘Children’s Dream Fund 50’.

“Yeah, I’ve raced Citrus County Speedway quite a bit. My Florida car owner George Rudolph has raced there a lot as well with different drivers over the years. I feel like we have a real shot to win this. Regardless of who will be there you still gotta be fast”.

“They’re gonna qualify, which is something southern guys normally don’t do. Quite frankly, all the guys I race with up north get to come down and see one of the tracks I grew up racing at. Winning is our main goal but a top three would be nice. There will be a lot of 410’s in the field and we got a 360. I still feel like we got an advantage at a track like Citrus County Speedway. I’m really looking forward to this race.”

The 50-lap $5,000 to win race is expected to draw all the SSSS regulars as well as a handful of MSR regulars. This announcement of Liguori’s participation of one of the first MSR regulars who intend to compete in this event. Others are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Event promoter JJ Dutton is using this race to draw attention to the non-profit Childrens Dream Fund organization. The hope is through this event, money and awareness can be raised to assist the organization.

RACING AMERICA PARTNERS WITH MUST SEE RACING IN 2024

(January 16, 2024) The Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit today announced they have in place a live streaming partnership with Racing America for the 2024 season. The partnership will see Racing America live stream 8 events from the MSR schedule in 2024. This will be the first time in the history of the series they have had an exclusive live streaming partner.

“We are really excited to be live streaming eight of our Must See Racing events on Racing America in 2024” explained MSR President Jim Hanks.

“Showcasing the MSR record setting pavement winged sprint car racing with our marketing partners American Racer, Engine Pro Perfit and their supply partners on Racing America’s first-class programming and distribution significantly expands our brand of racing entertainment and fan base across the country.

Our race teams from across the USA and Canada are all looking forward to the upcoming season with the RA live streaming available to their fans”.

Racing America Director of Broadcasting Alan Dietz explained the reasoning for adding MSR to the fold.

“We’re looking to expand our subscriber base. Must See Racing is just a part of what we’re doing in open wheel racing, that’s part of a bigger strategy for us going into 2024 and beyond. The winged sprint cars of Must See Racing are fast and exciting. I think it’s a form of racing our existing subscribers will appreciate. If you’re a pavement open wheel fan, there’s gonna be plenty of that in the near future on Racing America”.

The schedule of MSR events that will be live streamed will be announced soon. The first event scheduled to be live streamed will be the March 2, 2004, non-points “Children’s Dream Fund 50” from Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida. The 50-lap $5,000-to-win event will be co-sanctioned with the Florida based Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series. The event is expected to draw some of the top winged pavement sprint car teams from across the country.

MUST SEE & SOUTHERN SPRINTS ANNOUNCE DREAM FUND 50 DETAILS

(January 8, 2024) Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit and the BG Products Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series officials have announced additional details for the March 2, 2024, ‘Children’s Dream Fund 50’ at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida? The event will be co-sanctioned by both series. It will be the first time both series have worked alongside with each other.

JJ Dutton is the event organizer and is the brainchild of the event. It was his intention to get both series to work together for the sole purpose of racing awareness and funding for the Children’s Dream Fun non-profit organization.

The Children’s Dream Fund is a St. Petersburg, Florida based non-profit organization that was founded in 1981 with the single purpose of fulfilling dreams for children ages 3-21 who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, and who live in West Central Florida. Dreams are referred to by doctors, nurses, Child Life and Social Workers, friends, families, and other patients.

Dreams vary as much as the personalities of the children the organization serves. They may involve meeting a celebrity, a trip, a gift such as a computer or playground, or their most-requested dream, a week at the Give Kids the World Village, which enables a child to visit all the Orlando-area theme parks.

The Children’s Dream Fund is not affiliated with a national organization. They do not telemarket to raise funds. Since its inception in 1981, the Children’s Dream Fund has made dreams come true for over 4,000 children. According to their most recent audited financial report, 87% of all expenses go to make children’s dreams come true. Over 50% of all dream costs are covered by in-kind donations.

The 50-lap $5,000 to win $700 to start final will be run under 2024 SSSS rules and procedures with Rick Day acting as Race Director for the event. The race will be run as a restricted 410 / 360 motor race. The event will utilize American Racer tires. It will be a point’s race for the SSSS and a non-points event for MSR. Tow money will also be available for teams who fail to transfer out of the B-main if that many cars are on hand.

The weekend will kick off March 1, 2024, with an open practice and a barbeque for teams after practice has concluded. The following night will kick off with single car qualifying, heat races (10l laps), a B-main (10 laps), and the ‘Children’s Dream Fund 50’. The event will start 24 cars and race organizer Dutton has indicated there could potentially be a couple of Provisionals added to the event.

The MSR Midwest Lights and Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series Lights will be eligible to compete in this event. It will be a points paying event for the SSSS Lights cars. MSR and SSSS will jointly tech cars over the course of the weekend. The SSSS will also handle post-race payout.
Citrus County Speedway wants to help raise awareness and funds through this special race. The track will donate 50 percent from the front gate, back gate, and concession sales for the night. The track as well as Dutton must be commended for their efforts. To many, this is more than just a race.

Lap sponsors for this event are currently being sought.Fifty percent of the money will go to the leader of the sponsored lap and the other half will go to the Childrens Dream Fund. To sponsor a lap contact Rick Day (813) 377-5862.

MSR AND SOUTHERN SPRINTS JOIN FORCES TO PROMOTE CHILDREN’S DREAM FUND

(December 22, 2023) Officials from both the Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit and the BG Products Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series today announced that they will work together to co-sanction ‘The Children’s Dream Fund 50’ at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida Saturday March 2, 2024.

The 50-lap event will pay the winner $5000. The sole purpose of the event is to raise awareness and funds for the Children’s Dream Fund Organization. The event is being organized by Tampa, Florida driver JJ Dutton with the help from the track and both series.

The Children’s Dream Fund is not affiliated with a national organization. They do not tele market to raise funds. Since its inception in 1981, the Children’s Dream Fund has made dreams come true for over 4,000 children. According to their most recent audited financial report, 87% of all expenses go to make children’s dreams come true. Over 50% of all dream costs are covered by in-kind donations.

The organization is very dear to the heart of driver and race organizer Dutton.

“My daughter Sadie had Ewings Cancer” Dutton explained. “They reached out to us and really brought her up from when she was at her worst. They got her to be where she needed to finish her treatment. We just wanna bring awareness to the Children’s Dream Fund Organization any way we can and help raise some funds for them”.

Dutton participated in the ‘Sandi DeCaire Classic 41’ this past November at Citrus County Speedway. Dutton was able to raise a significant amount of money from that event. He hopes this event will be even more successful.

Official details of the race itself, rules, and purse structure have yet to be announced. The event is expected to air live on Race America and be taped for a delayed telecast on network television through MAVTV. The MAVTV part of the event could help to bring national awareness to the Children’s Dream Fund Organization.

Due to the timing of the event, and availability of cars between the two series, a good car count is expected for this race. An open practice is tentatively scheduled for Friday night March 1, 2024.

When the Southern Sprint Car Shootout Series officially announced the switch to American Racer Tires this past Sunday, it helped to make this co-sanctioned event between the two series possible.

Other news expected includes the finalization of the 2024 schedule, rule amendments, and new driver additions to the series in 2024.

MUST SEE RACING TO BE REPRESENTED AT OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN

(November 28, 2023) The inaugural Risk On 360 Open Wheel Showdown is set to kick off in a few days. Teams from all over the country and Canada will battle it out for 100 laps with hopes of taking home the $50,000 first place prize money. The event will lure the best in the business to the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This winged pavement sprint car race will be the richest pavement sprint car race in the history of our sport.

Nearly every single pavement sprint car sanctioning body in the country will be represented including the Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro. MSR has long been considered the premier winged pavement sprint car series in North America in terms of competition level, and visibility, thanks in part to its television package with MAVTV. MSR is also the only unrestricted 410-winged pavement sprint car series in the country.

Jason Blonde, Davey Hamilton Jr., Ryan Litt, Tyler Roahrig, and Bobby Santos III will make the trek west to represent MSR at the Open Wheel Showdown this weekend. Between the five of them, they account for six series wins and the MSR championship this past season. Now they face off against the best the west has for bragging rights as to what part of the country and Canada is truly the best. For Litt and Blonde, it will be the first time they have competed out west.

JASON BLONDE – Blonde will be competing for the first time on the West Coast. He is coming off the 2023 Must See Racing championship and picked up the win in the season opener. The Michigan veteran may be the weekends wild card. He is teaming up with fellow Michigan car owner Dick Myers and his potent #50m Mopar. The Myers owned car is the winningest active pavement sprint car in the country. This could be a formidable duo at the Open Wheel Showdown.

DAVEY HAMILTON JR. – The Idaho born driver is no doubt the hottest driver entering the Open Wheel Showdown. He is fresh off a ‘Sandi DeCaire Classic 41’ win in Florida a month ago. He will be behind the wheel of the Kirk Morgan Racing Hurricane chassis. The team has been just as impressive with veteran mechanic Todd Schmidt turning the wrenches. As a team they have eight wins in 2023, which leads the country. They also have three MSR wins, which is the tops in the series.

RYAN LITT – The London Ontario, Canada drivers heads west for the first time. He hasn’t raced much since 2019 due to heavy COVID-19 restrictions in Canada until last season. He picked up an MSR win at Berlin in July. He’s regularly beaten the best in the Midwest over the years and would have to be considered a contender to take 50k back to Canada.

TYLER ROAHRIG – The Plymouth, Indiana driver needs no introduction. He is a two-time Little 500 champion. He returned to winged pavement sprit car racing for the first time in several years this season with a handful of MSR starts. At the Pink Lady Classic in September, he worked his way up to third place before running out of fuel and looked like a contender for the win. Roahrig will be someone to pay close attention to.

BOBBY SANTOS III – The Massachusetts born driver enters the Open Wheel Showdown having been undefeated in West Coast competition dating back to 2019. In fact, he swept a pair of events at Colorado National Speedway in July. He also scored a MSR win at Lorain Raceway Park in June. Make no mistake about it, Santos III will be sniffing around for the win in Saturday’s 100-lap finale.

MUST SEE RACING MIDWEST LIGHTS RETURNS TO LORAIN RACEWAY PARK IN 2024

November 22, 2023 – Holly, Michigan – The Must See Racing Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights Series is set to return to Lorain Raceway Park in South Amherst, Ohio twice in 2024. The series will be returning to LRP for the fourth consecutive season. LRP has become the unofficial home of the Midwest Lights Series since its inception in 2020.

The series is set to invade LRP on August 24 and September 21. LRP has been the site of some of the best racing the series has contested over the years. The 3/8-mile Northeast Ohio speedway is one of the raciest the Midwest Lights Series annually visits.

2024 Midwest Lights Series winners at LRP included Andrew Bogusz and JJ Henes.

With today’s announcement of these two dates, the Midwest Lights Series 2024 schedule stands at eight events and counting. Must See Racing has not officially announced the complete 2024 schedule so it’s possible there could be additional dates announced in the coming weeks.

Cody Gallogly is coming off his second consecutive series championship in 2023. Gallogly will be shooting for his third series championship in 2024. He will battling a stout field of cars in 2024 including 2020 series champion J.J. Henes among others.

The 2024 Must See Racing Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights Series will visit five different tracks as the schedule stands now. Besides LRP the series is set to visit Sandusky Speedway, Owosso Speedway, Corrrigan Oil Speedway, and Birch Run Speedway. The series opener is set for April 20 at Sandusky Speedway.

MUST SEE RACING REVEALS THREE MORE 2024 DATES

(November 14, 2023) Must See Racing officials today announced three more dates from the soon-to-be released 2024 schedule. The series will be returning to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan and Plymouth Motor Speedway in Plymouth, Indiana in 2024.

BERLIN RACEWAY – Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan has been a staple to the Must See Racing schedule almost every year since its inaugural season in 2010. The partnership between MSR and Berlin Raceway will continue in 2024.

Since the first MSR race held at Berlin Raceway in 2010, the series has returned almost every year since, and oftentimes with multiple dates. No track on the current MSR schedule has had a longer standing relationship with MSR than Berlin Raceway.

Berlin has been the site of some of the best racing the series has offered in its 15 years of existence. All three races in 2023 were barn burners that went right down to the finish. Jason Blonde held off a hard charging Bobby Santos III to claim the win on May 20. Canadian Ryan Litt returned after facing serious injuries in a Supermodified event early in 2023 at Berlin Raceway. He claimed the August 12 final MSR visit to Berlin Raceway of the season. It was his first time back since his accident. Jimmy McCune also picked up a win on July 22.
The series is scheduled to visit Berlin Raceway on May 18 and August 10. Both events will be part of the popular ‘ENGINE PRO FAST CAR DASH’ mini-series.

PLYMOUTH MOTOR SPEEDWAY – The Series will return to Plymouth Motor Speedway on June 15 for the second consecutive year. Must See Racing made its debut at Plymouth Motor Speedway for the first-time last September. The track had been covered with dirt for several years and it had been over a decade since winged asphalt sprint cars roared around the track before 2023.

Last year’s event was highly entertaining. Bobby Komisarski set quick time and put on a show charging to the front, in an attempt to chase down eventual winner Davey Hamilton Jr. The track has proved to be the perfect venue for winged asphalt 410 sprint cars.

This year’s event will bring back the best 410-winged asphalt drivers in the country including local Plymouth star Tyler Roahrig. Keep an eye on this particular date for a big announcement in the coming weeks.

MSR LIGHTS TO INVADE CORRIGAN OIL SPEEDWAY IN 2024

November 7, 2024 – Holly, Michigan – Must See Racing today announced that the Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights will be making their first ever appearance at the ¼ mile semi-banked Corrigan Oil Speedway in Mason, Michigan on Friday June 21, 2024.

This event will be a part of a double-header weekend for the 602 Crates series as they will join the MSR 410 National Series the following evening June 22, 2024, at Owosso Speedway.

The Corrigan Oil Speedway event will showcase the close wheel to wheel winged sprint car competition at only the fourth different track in the state of Michigan that the series has competed at.

Previous Michigan venues include Kalamazoo Speedway, Birch Run Speedway, and Owosso Speedway. The series will be the headline event as they compete without their 410 National counterparts.

The Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights Series continues to grow each year with the addition of new and young drivers. The series continues to be a steppingstone to the 410 National Series with a full schedule of events in Michigan and Ohio, where the vast majority of the teams reside.

Cody Gallogly captured his second consecutive MSR Lights championship this season on the heels of a series leading 3 feature wins and 4 Fast Times.

MUST SEE RACING RETURNS TO HISTORIC SANDUSKY SPEEDWAY IN ‘24

Holly, Michigan (October 31, 2023) Must See Racing announced today that the 2024 season for both the MSR National Series Presented by Engine Pro and Maxima Racing Oils Midwest Lights Series will kick off at Sandusky Speedway with both series in action April 20, 2024.

This will be the first visit to Sandusky Speedway for the National Series since 2019 while the MSR Midwest Lights last competed in October 2022 during Cavalcade Weekend.

Sandusky Speedway has long been the home of Supermodifieds, but sprint car racing has a brief history with the track. In 1989 Jeff Gordon claimed an All Star Circuit of Champions 410 victory before he found NASCAR fame. There have been other 410 sprint car series compete at Sandusky prior to the inaugural appearance of MSR in 2019.

Jimmy McCune won the last and only 410 National event at Sandusky Speedway on August 25, 2019. He was also the days Fast Qualifier with a lap of 15.266 second around the historic half-mile. That Sunday afternoon event drew 22 cars and provided plenty of side-by-side racing throughout the day.

The April 20, 2024, season opener will offer a practice session on Friday April 19. Teams will be able to get acclimated to the track and shake cars down for the first time after a long winter. The following night will see complete racing programs for both series with qualifying, heat races, and feature events.

Must See Racing continues to offer a sneak peek at its 2024 schedule by releasing specific dates each week from the schedule ahead of its release date. The next date that will be released from the 2024 schedule will be November 7.

Tracks already announced from the 2024 National schedule include Owosso Speedway, Birch Run Speedway, and Lancaster Motorplex.
