October 17, 2021 – South Amherst, Ohio – A busy day at Lorain Raceway Park Sunday afternoon concluded the 2021 Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series season.

Prior to the weekend’s races, Joey Wyckoff entered the final weekend of racing with a mere 25-point lead for the series championship. The had been six different winners prior to Sunday’s season finale. Only Wyckoff and Charlie Shultz had won more than once in 2021.

JJ Henes, still deep in the championship battle, came out Sunday afternoon with guns blazing. He showed everyone that the championship would most likely go right down to the wire when he led group qualifying 13.691 over last night’s winner Schultz 13.778.

Jason Rader and Tim Henthorne picked up heat victories.

A 6 was the inversion for the feature and would find Henthorne and Cody Gallogly make up the front row. Gallogly would go on the take the 30-lap feature that went green to checkered. It was Gallogly’s first career Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series victory.

Wyckoff, driving for veteran car owner Dave Coyan, would secure the 2021 MSR Midwest Lights championship. Car owner John Higgins was declared the 2021 MSR Midwest Lights Car Owner champion. The second year series proved very entertaining and highly competitive.

October 16. 2021 – South Amherst, Ohio – Veteran Chargin’ Charlie Schultz picked up a popular win Saturday night with his Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series at Loran Raceway Park. It was the opening night of the annual Halloween Festival of Speed. Schultz was aboard the potent John Higgins owned #92.

Saturday’s event was the next-to-last event on the 2021 MSR Midwest Lights schedule, with the season finale set for Sunday afternoon and the championship battle still in full chase.

Defending MSR Lights champion JJ Henes reminded everyone he is still battling for this year’s championship when he led group qualifying 13.570. Heat race victories went to AJ Leseicki and Schultz.

Schultz used his outside front row starting position, by virtue of a 4 inversion, to claim the feature event over Joshua Sexton, Henes, Jason Rader, and fifth place and current leader Joey Wycoff.

The win was the second MSR Lights victory of the season for Shultz who also picked up a series win on June 11 at LRP. Schultz has also been victorious with the MSR 410 series in 2021.

The 2021 Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series will conclude Sunday afternoon with the last racing program of the year on tap.

October 12, 2021 – The Maxima Racing Oils Must See Racing Midwest Lights Series is preparing for its championship finale this Oct.16-17, 2021.

The series will contest two complete programs this Saturday and Sunday at Lorain Raceway Park in South Amherst, Ohio as part of the Halloween Festival of Speed.

At the conclusion of the week end, the 2021 MSR Lights champion will be crowned. Joey Wyckoff is the current points leader with a margin of only 25 points over Joshua Sexton. With two races left, the points lead is anything but safe.

To date, the second year series is enjoying a highly competitive 2021 season. Through seven events thus far in 2021, there have been six different winners. Only Joey Wyckoff has scored multiple victories.

It is only fitting the 2021 season will conclude at Lorain Raceway Park. The track has played an important part in the 2021 season. Including this weekends events, LRP will have played host to six MSR Lights events.
