WINGED SPRINT CARS RETURN TO BERLIN RACEWAY IN 2022

October 27, 2021- The Must See Racing Sprint Series presented by Engine Pro made an official announcement today that the series will be returning to Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan in 2022. It will be the first time MSR has competed at the track since 2019.

“We couldn’t possibly be more excited to return to Berlin Raceway on July 30th, 2022” explained MSR president Jim Hanks. “The winged sprints can run at the top, on the bottom and everywhere in between at wicked fast speeds making for some really thrilling racing. The ENGINE PRO FAST CAR DASH format will be a perfect showcase of power and speed for the fans.”

The last time MSR competed at Berlin was September 7, 2019, and Jason Blonde emerged victorious. Another event one month earlier on August 10, 2019, saw Jimmy McCune take victory laurels. Over 20 cars were on hand for both events.

“Winged sprint cars have always been a fan favorite at the Berlin Raceway” explained Berlin Raceway GM Jeff Striegle. “We are proud to welcome Must See Racing back in 2022. This series has always been considered a fan favorite. The thing that makes the winged sprint cars so exciting here at Berlin is the speed period. Wing sprint cars hold the all-time track record here at Berlin.

Our 2022 schedule is perhaps one of the most exciting schedules we’ve had in the 72-year history of the Berlin Raceway. We have several big events planned for the upcoming season. One of them certainly is the return of winged sprint cars to Berlin Raceway. The fans have always embraced the winged sprints, and with good reason. They are the fastest cars that compete here on any given Saturday night” concluded Striegle.

Winged sprint car racing at Berlin Raceway dates back to July 1, 1995. Donnie Adams picked up the S.O.D. win in front of a packed house. Berlin Raceway was also on the inaugural 2010 Must See Racing schedule. Brian Gerster holds the all-time track record at 12.513 (126.013mph) set on June 9, 2018.
